The varied range of meeting and incentive facilities in the city of Zurich and surrounding region will be further extended with countless new options

The varied range of meeting and incentive facilities in the city and surrounding region will be further extended with countless new options.

Twelve new hotels will open in Zurich by 2021, the majority with more than 100 guest rooms:

Airport Hotels and The Circle

Zurich Airport

The largest new hotel to open in Zurich in the near future is the major construction project, The Circle. A convention center is being built at Zurich Airport with capacity for up to 1,500 delegates. Shopping facilities, 12 restaurants, and green outdoor areas will create a brand new services hub for Zurich in addition to the city center. In total, over 550 new guest rooms will be provided at the Hyatt Place and Hyatt Regency.

The Radisson Blu, until now the largest hotel located directly at the airport, is also to undergo renovation in the next few years. With 330 guest rooms and over 40 meeting rooms, it offers ideal options for combining hotel accommodation with meetings at The Circle directly at the airport.

Openings in 2018

In fall 2018, the French group, B&B Hôtels, is opening its first two establishments in Zurich. The hotel in Rümlang has 170 rooms and the one at its Wallisellen site (expected to open in early 2019) 140 rooms. In addition, a new major hotel project with 319 rooms is being implemented west of the city center in Altstetten – the A-Ja Resort, with event gastronomy and a large grill restaurant.

Openings in 2019

In the vicinity of the airport, towards the Limmattal region, the new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel will be opening its doors in spring 2019. It features 114 guest rooms and 12 meeting and event rooms, the largest covering 360 square meters (3,875 sq.ft) of floor space. Directly next to the Glattzentrum shopping mall in Wallisellen, the new hotel, Harry’s Home, will accommodate 110 rooms.

The CitizenM hotel group plans to open a hotel with 160 rooms in the city center, close to Paradeplatz. In the trendy quartier Flon in Lausanne, another hotel is being built. Spread over 3.500sqm the Moxy Hotel Lausanne is scheduled to open at the end of 2019.

Openings in 2020

The Intercityhotel Zurich Airport aims to commerce operations in 2020. The project comprises 250 rooms and a conference area covering around 450 square meters (4,850 sq. ft). In the same year, the Sorell hotel group plans to open a new hotel in a historical building in Zurich’s Old Town.

Openings in 2021

In fall 2021, the Niu Hotel with 131 rooms opens in the “Glasi” quarter in Bülach, to the north of Zurich.
