A hot new hotel comes to Hilton
Summer is always sizzling in the south of Spain, but things just got a little hotter for Hilton, who have just brought the luxurious Higueron Hotel Malaga under their wing as part of the Curio Collection, a selection of upscale and unique hotels from around the world.
The 177-key property is midway between Malaga and Marbella on the Costa del Sol, a key destination for the rich and famous.
This glamourous stretch of coastline is home to the Higueron Hotel, which occupies an enviable position right on the Mediterranean, and guests will be wowed by the panoramic views out over the dazzling sea.
The sunny south of Spain continues to be a hit with tourists and Simon Vincent, President, EMEA, Hilton, says, “Malaga is one of Europe’s most popular destinations, with 12.5 million tourists flocking to its sunny shores last year. With €1 in every €72 generated from travel and tourism in Spain, we are excited to expand our portfolio by 50% in the next three to five years.”
History, culture and entertainment at the Higueron Hotel
The Curio Collection prides itself on welcoming characterful properties into its midst, and as such, the Higueron Hotel is a perfect fit.
Art is central to the hotel, given that Malaga is Picasso’s birthplace, and the hotel celebrates the artistic history of its location by exhibiting two art collections – one permanent and one rotating – as well as decoration and designs by local artists.
24 signature suites offer guests incredible ocean vistas from private balconies and downstairs, they have a choice of six restaurants, one of which, Sollo by Diego Gallegos, is famed for being Spain’s only Michelin starred sustainable restaurant.
The state of the art Nagomi Spa is the perfect place to revive after a day in the sun, while fitness freaks can avail of the 24-hour fitness centre, play a game of tennis on one of the many courts, or relax on the beach at the soon-to-be-opened private beach club.
“Higueron Hotel Malaga is the latest hotspot on the beautiful Costa del Sol, offering a truly unique experience to wind down and explore everything this remarkable location has to offer,” said Mark Nogal, Global Head, Curio Collection by Hilton.
“As we continue to expand our one-of-a-kind collection of hotels to new and exciting destinations, we are thrilled to have opened in the charming city of Malaga, offering guests and locals alike unrivalled dining, spa and meetings experiences.”
