Serviced apartments are on the up and up, and one of the biggest names in this genre of accommodation is going from strength to strength. Ascott has once again taken the crown for best serviced apartments in the Middle East. We find out more.
Ascott wins three years in a row
The team over at The Ascott Limited, the serviced residence apartment unit of real estate company CapitaLand, certainly have cause for celebration. The group recently won four prestigious awards at the 2018 World Travel Awards Middle East Gala Ceremony, which took place recently. These awards are some of the most highly regarded in the hospitality industry, and have been dubbed by some as the “Oscars” of the hotel and tourism world. It is no small feat to take home one of the prizes, and Ascott surely must be on cloud nine, as they took home four of the top trophies for the third year in a row. The prize that Ascott is most familiar with is the coveted Middle East’s Leading Serviced Apartment Brand award, which is the night’s highest honour. The group also walked away with Saudi Arabia’s Leading Serviced Apartment Brand award, which they happened to win last year too. The other two prizes were awarded to two particular properties operated by Ascott. The Ascott Sari Jeddah took away the title for Saudi Arabia’s Leading Serviced Apartments, while the Ascott Park Place Dubai walked home with the Dubai’s Leading Serviced Apartments award. All in all, it was a night that saw Ascott come out on top in the serviced apartment category.
Ascott on course to grow in coming years
Ascott’s winning streak show no signs of slowing down. Not only are they riding high on their wins from the World Travel Awards Middle East Gala Ceremony, but they also have plans to expand their enterprise across the globe in the coming years. They are also one of the world’s leading names in serviced residence apartments, currently operating thousands of units across the American, Asian Pacific, European, African and Middle Eastern markets. Their plans involve further expansion into the Middle Eastern market, and the group’s regional manager for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Vincent Miccolis, explained further, saying, “Ascott is closing in on our goal of achieving 5,000 units in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey by 2020 as we have already surpassed 3,300 units in over 23 properties across 12 cities. We look forward to growing our presence in the region and the opening of properties in Dubai, Makkah and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia, as well as Accra, Ghana in Africa this year.” Speaking about the prize giving and Ascott’s big wins across numerous categories, he added, “We are honoured to be recognised for our reputable and established brands, and quality properties in the region. These four prestigious awards, three of which we have won for a few consecutive years, have also affirmed the hard work of our Ascott team. They go the extra mile to provide the best customer experience for our guests, setting high standards for the industry.”
