With rising awareness of environmental changes and the ever growing eco-tourism, the challenge for hotel technology to approach a new direction in energy savings and optimising management costs is becoming even more necessary and is seen as an integral part of any project development.

With its 3,000 hotels, and 250,000 Smart Rooms, VDA moves easily within this evolving context providing guests a truly unique experience, being fully aware of environmental issues and energy consumption.

VDA Room Management Systems are conceived in order to micro-manage energy consumption, and related features, from a central control system, minimising infrastructure costs, maximising energy savings, comfort, and security.

Micromaster , VDA’s Intelligent Room Management System, allows the configuring of room climate and environmental settings within hotel defined energy consumption models, which can easily be modified on a hotel wide, or individual room basis as and when required. Temperature levels are automatically adjusted depending on the Check IN/OUT status, Guest Presence status, or if it is hotel personnel accessing the room, ensuring the keeping of room temperatures at optimal levels.

Guest can operate a limited temperature adjustment from the in room control panels. Once guest customize the Comfort temperature level, every time he is coming back into the room this custom level is automatically re-established, while during the guest absence the temperature level is set automatically to an “energy saving” level decided by the hotel staff.

VDA Group can manage any kind of air conditioning system. The Micromaster system has already been installed in hundreds of Hotels with various VRV or VRF Systems to manage precisely both small and big area and guarantee a high comfort level, and a low energy consumption.

Among its ModBus-protocol-based-on products, in its catalog VDA Group has a temperature and humidity combined sensor to manage with the Radiant System. This sensor allows the calculation of the dew point, and activates accordingly the system’s action to avoid condensation and dripping.

VDA Group can also easily manage the Splitter Systems thanks to an infrared command simulating the remote control’s functions.

Following the recent Covid-19 emergency and in accordance with the need to provide protection of the health of guests and staff, VDA proposes solutions to guarantee the in-room facilities normal operation and the guest safety. In fact, when the guest enters the room, the movement sensor will detect his or her presence and thus enable the services. When the guest leaves the room, the motion sensor will note that there is no presence, and the room will return to the energy saving mode.

As an alternative to the volumetric sensor, it is possible to activate the “Presence of the guest” in a pre-defined way, so enabling all the services automatically within the room. This function may remain active until check-out, or be temporarily inhibited by the hotelier where necessary.

The VDA group has been operating for more than 40 years in the Hotel Room Automation sector, offering specialised solutions throughout the world of hospitality. The fundamental principles that are the basis for the creation of our solutions are their advanced technological platforms, their simplicity of installation, that they are user-friendly, and their versatility to integrate with other third-party systems.
