Lift Design is highly regarded for its unique creations and craftsmanship of fine-metal etching surfaces like entry doors, murals and elevator doors. Lift Design’s custom-etched work has been featured in high-end hotels worldwide for decades through its successful collaborative relationships within the hospitality design community.
Following his passion for designing “art for architectural details”, Christian Heckscher has extended his artistic sensibility to include a line of luxury furniture in the Lift Design portfolio suited to residential and high-end hospitality commissions.

“I was always attracted to furniture as an object, even as sculpture, something that one can enjoy in more ways than appreciating its functionality,” he said.
Heckscher’s furniture collection is informed by decades of practice and experience with art and metal. Whether creating a one-of-a-kind piece, limited edition or complete series, material and craftsmanship are always very carefully applied to produce works of exceptional beauty.
Cocktail tables, side tables and dining tables are offered in standard or customised sizes with various finishes available. The collection reveals a progressive design sensibility infused with old-world quality craftsmanship, satisfying the most sophisticated art and furniture lover.
Christian Heckscher was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1951. Educated as a fine artist and meticulous craftsman in Belgium, Heckscher has been designing, developing and producing intricate etchings on metal surfaces since 1971, receiving commissions from high-end corporate, hospitality and residential interior designers and architects in Europe, America and Asia.
