Ruby Hotels enters Frankfurt with stylish 215-room opening

Munich-based Ruby Hotels has expanded to Germany’s financial centre Frankfurt, launching a sleek property inspired by a philanthropist and member of the famous Rothschild banking family.

Ruby Louise, Ruby Hotels’ latest outpost, boasts 215 rooms spread across eight floors.

Ruby loves Frankfurt

Situated on a quiet street in the centre of Frankfurt, Ruby Louise is named after Louise von Rothschild, philanthropist and wife of a prominent banker in the 19th century. The new hotel provides guests with convenient access to many of the city’s highlights, including the Alte Oper and Goetheplatz/Roßmarkt, as well as shopping on Goethestraße and Freßgass.

Michael Struck, Ruby Hotels CEO and founder, said: “Frankfurt as an international financial centre is an excellent location for Ruby and the next logical step in our expansion.”

Cool and cosy

Von Rothschild was born in the middle of the Biedermeier era – which promoted an inward-looking sense of cosiness and connection with nature – and the property that takes her name boasts a similar aesthetic .

The heart of the hotel is a 400 sq m roof terrace, which comes alive with foliage and greenery, as well as an orchard of apple, pear and cherry trees that transform the space into a classic Biedermeier-period garden retreat. This is complemented internally by street art, graffiti and a huge mural depicting von Rothschild herself, executed by local artist Big Birne.

The property also boasts an open-plan check-in, bar and café area, chill-out lounge and striking spiral staircase.

General manager Catherine Angulo said: “Our Ruby Louise is ideally located in the newly built Junghof Plaza in the heart of Frankfurt, with a huge roof garden that is open to all Frankfurt residents. We expect a recovery soon on the part of business travel and gastronomy and look ahead with confidence.”
