Rosewood eyes opportunities in Chongqing
Chongqing Sunac Huacheng Real Estate Development has appointed Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage this new hotel in Jiangbeizui International Financial Center within the city’s central business district. The property – the brand’s tenth in Greater China – is slated to make its debut in 2030.
“Chongqing is quickly becoming a powerhouse of both business and recreational activity,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “It’s thrilling to have our latest project emerge in such an impactful city and to have the opportunity to play a real role in the transformation of Chongqing’s luxury hospitality landscape.

A unique setting for Rosewood’s latest outpost
Rosewood Chongqing will sit within a newbuild, mixed-use development close to the city centre, high-end shops, dining establishments and transportation hubs, making it ideal for both business and leisure travel. The hotel will be housed in the largest of the project’s four towers; rising 470 metres high, this 103-floor tower is destined to become the city’s tallest building.
It’s envisaged that the hotel will incorporate 183 rooms, including 25 suites, along with 945 sq m of event space and four dining outlets – a bistro, living room, Chinese restaurant and specialty bar. The wellness offering, meanwhile, will comprise Sense, A Rosewood Spa with multiple treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a fitness centre.
This exciting project adds to the hotel brand’s ambitious pipeline, following on from the recent announcements of Rosewood Miyakojima and Rosewood Hangzhou.
