Project of the Week: The Dorsett Gold Coast

Luxury amenities and a prime location on Broadbeach Island wins The Dorsett Gold Coast our coveted Project of the Week accolade.

Dramatic architecture, luxury amenities and a prime location on Broadbeach Island wins The Dorsett Gold Coast our coveted Project of the Week accolade.

This forthcoming hotel will be part of a 53-storey, mixed-use tower within The Star Gold Coast complex, marking The Dorsett brand’s entry into Australia. We take a look at the development’s key features.

Leisure and entertainment hub

Offering a holistic beach, dining, shopping, entertainment and inner-city experience, The Dorsett Gold Coast will be located close to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. From here, guests will have views of the coastline and lush hinterland, alongside convenient access to leisure facilities such as The Star Gold Coast’s promenade – featuring several restaurants and bars, a pool, a gym, a theatre and the Pavilion Convention Centre.

This exciting property is being developed by Far East Consortium and The Star Entertainment Group. DBI Design and Cottee Parker are behind the hotel’s striking architecture, while HBA is designing the light-filled interiors.

A luxury Gold Coast retreat

The Star Gold Coast’s third hotel, The Dorsett will comprise 316 guest rooms as well as 423 apartment-style one and two-bedroom residences, which are to occupy the upper floors. Guests will have exclusive access to a new swimming pool and a recreation deck, offering views out over the ocean, as well as a collection of F&B venues.

The Dorsett Hospitality International group is among Asia’s fastest growing hotel chains with 58 properties across 27 cities worldwide. It’s expected that the new Dorsett hotel here will significantly raise awareness of The Star Gold Coast in the international market generally and Asia in particular.

Overall, The Star Gold Coast has built up its profile rapidly over the past few years and is continuing to evolve. The Dorsett Gold Coast, a key part of this ongoing growth story, is expected to open in Q1 2022.
