Avani Hotels & Resorts’ entry into Mauritius with a ‘tropical escape’ earns our latest Project of the Week title.

The Minor Hotel Group brand boasts that the new Avani Bel Ombre Mauritius Resort & Spa will create stylish accommodation in an untouched island paradise.

Modern design meets natural beauty

Due to open in Q1 2023, the upcoming resort’s concept encompasses fresh modern design meeting natural beauty.

Developed by KPMM Mauritius Ltd, this first Avani site in the African island nation sits on a beachfront location along a stretch of the unspoilt southern coast. Coupled with the operational expertise and global reach of Minor Hotels, Avani’s stylish and straightforward approach to hospitality management persuaded KPMM to award the company the management contract.

Lush accommodation

The upscale accommodation comprises 150 clean contemporary spaces, including 134 standard rooms and 16 Avani suites, tucked into leafy palms and lush greenery. In addition, 12 residential four-bedroom pool villas will also be available for purchase.

Dining highlights include a specialty restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant and Pantry, Avani’s designer deli where grab-and-go meets gourmet.

Something for everyone

A large multi-functional meeting space caters for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and weddings, while guests can take care of themselves in an AvaniSpa or a state-of-the-art AvaniFit gym. Two swimming pools and a beach activities centre complete the main amenities, while families can make use of an Avani Kids Club.

The resort is located only 30-minute from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.
