Mövenpick Resort Khao Yai, which boasts 62 guest rooms and 50 villas, aims to bring the romance of a Tuscan estate to Thailand’s biodiverse landscape.

The latest addition to Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio lies on the fringes of Khao Yai National Park, just a three-hour drive from Bangkok. We find out what guests can expect.

Tuscan grandeur in the Thai countryside

Aimed at families, friends and couples, Mövenpick’s new 112-room resort offers the indulgence of a castle-style hotel within an area of the mountainous landscape that has long been a popular Thai getaway.

The bucolic setting is complemented by Tuscan architecture, with rooms decorated in the Renaissance and Modern Baroque styles. Travellers can stay in one of 62 guest rooms, ranging from the 45 sq m Deluxe Room to the three-bedroom Penthouse, or one of 50 villas, including a five-bedroom pool villa for groups. All rooms overlook the fairways of the property’s 18-hole golf course and an attractive European-style garden.

“The opening of Mövenpick Resort Khao Yai represents our 10th Mövenpick address in Thailand,” said Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor, Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia and the Maldives. “Home to a rich national park, Khao Yai has long been a favoured getaway for Bangkok residents and domestic travellers seeking an escape into nature.

“With the opening of our first hotel here, we are looking forward to showcasing the 70-year culinary legacy of the Mövenpick brand, and delivering a guest experience that is authentic and memorable, through a sustainable and responsible approach.”

Translating the Mövenpick experience to Khao Yai

Reinforcing Mövenpick’s reputation for culinary experiences, the hotel offers all-day indoor and outdoor dining at Flavours of Khao Yai, relaxed dining drawing on the natural surroundings at Castleton Cafe and afternoon tea in the mountains, with produce sourced from the onsite organic vegetable garden. The setting is ideal for gala events such as weddings too; Ozone Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests in theatre style or 200 guests for cocktail parties.

Meanwhile, Panacee Wellness Khao Yai offers a series of wellness programmes designed to optimise strength and energy through a range of holistic health check-ups, vitality therapies, hair and facial detox treatments. Other leisure facilities here include a swimming pool and My Ozone Animal Club, where children can get up close to a variety of farm animals.

As well as being situated by the country’s oldest national park, the hotel is close to local farms, vineyards and the picturesque Heaw Narok Waterfall.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, an international upscale hotel management company with over 16,000 staff members, is represented in 24 countries with 80 hotels, resorts and Nile cruisers currently in operation.
