Livecookintable®: being part of the solution in sustainable production

Being a sustainable company is not only about using sustainably sourced materials, but also about the entirety of the supply chain process. By sourcing regionally, we proudly support the German and Central European economy and, at the same time, have a stable supply chain.

Being a sustainable company is not only about using sustainably sourced materials, but also about the entirety of the supply chain process. By sourcing regionally, we proudly support the German and Central European economy and, at the same time, have a stable supply chain.

At MEC2 GmbH livecookintable®, an important aspect in our sustainability goals is to source our raw materials for key components of our products regionally throughout our supply chain.

Being a sustainable company is not only about using sustainably sourced materials, but also about the entirety of the supply chain process. By sourcing regionally, we proudly support the German and Central European economy and, at the same time, have a stable supply chain.

Regionality is defined as using materials from the same location as the factory plant. By consolidating the goods in one location for dispatch, we save on shipping costs, and this enables us to lower our carbon footprint.

Let’s start at the beginning of the supply chain process with the raw materials. Livecookintable® consists of only a few materials that build the base of our well-known lego-like system, BAUKASTEN. These primary raw materials include stainless-steel, high-pressure laminate, ceran glass and vegan leather.

Regionality also extends to the electrical and wood components of our equipment. Most companies tend to stray outside of Europe for such products, but we are proud to even source these components regionally from trusted and reliable suppliers. By doing this, we avoid adding unnecessary shipping, therefore playing our part in respecting the environment.

When the company was founded back in 2009, the selection of raw materials in the design phase was specifically based on regional suppliers for the reasons above. Additionally, this gives us complete authority to ensure the highest standards of quality control of the raw materials used in the production of our equipment. The whole process is closely monitored.

In conclusion, as a B2B company, it is our job to support our clients who are already making strides in the sustainability movement, but moreover, their guests who choose to be sustainable in their day-to-day life. This can only be achieved by starting at the core of our products, the materials. Regionality plays a big part in our base of a sustainable product for a sustainable company.
