IHG Hotels & Resorts has revealed a raft of new signings across Turkey across its Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.

The group currently has 28 open hotels and five hotels in the pipeline within the country.

Upcoming line-up

New hotel signings include: Holiday Inn Express Ankara Airport, Crowne Plaza Istanbul Ortakoy Bosphorus and Holiday Inn Erzurum.

The first addition will be Holiday Inn Express Ankara Airport, which is due to open next month. The 122-room property is owned by Asal Grup Otomotiv Insaat Ticaret and is 4 km from Ankara’s International Airport. The hotel will have a restaurant and separate meeting space for leisure and business guests.

Extra duo

Next up is Crowne Plaza Istanbul Ortakoy Bosphorus. Due to open in summer 2023, the modern 140-room hotel will house a rooftop restaurant with city views, plus meeting rooms and a fitness centre. The property is owned by Set Otelcilik Ticaret and located in Ortakoy district.

Completing the trio is recently signed Holiday Inn Erzurum. Owned by Rey Otel Turizm Isletmeciligi ve Ticaret, the 115-room site in Turkey’s Eastern Anatolian region is due to open at the end of 2023. Facilities will include a restaurant, meeting rooms, swimming pool and fitness centre.

Growth market

Furthermore, recent openings include Holiday Inn Trabzon East, Crowne Plaza Ankara and Crowne Plaza Istanbul Tuzla Viaport Marina.

Willemijn Geels, VP development Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are delighted to be seeing continued growth in Turkey with several signings across our brand portfolio during 2022. Turkey is an important growth market for IHG, and it is clear to see that this upward trajectory of momentum will only build in the coming months. We are also excited to welcome the InterContinental Grand Ankara  to our list of openings for 2024.”
