Accor to deliver new Mexican paragon

Accor has signed a deal with Grupo Paragon to operate what was formerly known as The Presidente InterContinental Santa Fe Mexico.

The hotel was immediately renamed as The Paragon Hotel, Mexico City Santa Fe, by Accor before undergoing a substantial multi-year renovation to make its official debut under one of the group’s luxury brands in 2025.

Spacious accommodation

The hotel is strategically located in the Santa Fe business district, nine miles from Mexico City’s historic city centre. Originally designed as apartments, the 117 key hotel boasts spacious rooms, with double-height ceilings and panoramic views of the city from each suite.

Guests can choose to dine at the upscale restaurant or sip cocktails in the lobby lounge and bar. Additionally, the property offers a fitness centre. Meetings and events provision consists of more than 11,000 sq ft of space.

Distinctive option

Nicolas Martinez, vice president of development, Mexico, Central America and Caribbean, Accor, said: “We are delighted to further expand our rapidly growing presence in Mexico City with this exceptional addition to the Accor portfolio. Since opening Sofitel Mexico City Reforma in 2019, we have seen firsthand the escalating demand for new luxury product in Mexico City, and there is no better location for driving leisure, business and group travel than the bustling commercial district of Santa Fe.

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with a strong owner such as Grupo Paragon to offer travellers a new, distinctive option for luxury experiences when exploring all that Mexico City has to offer, and to continue serving our Accor guests and clients, and ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty members by expanding our diverse offerings, from economy to luxury, across the country of Mexico.”

Transformation journey

Benjamin Juarez, general manager, The Paragon Hotel, Mexico City Santa Fe, by Accor, added: “It is exciting to join the Accor family and to welcome the group’s global community of travellers into our beautiful hotel.

“We are confident in Accor’s proven expertise in luxury, and we are honoured to partner together to bring an elevated level of luxury to the Santa Fe business district, in the heart of the cultural and economic hub that is Mexico City. We could not be more enthusiastic about the plans for the future and are thrilled to be embarking on this journey of transformation for the hotel together.”

More in Mexico

The site marks the group’s ninth property in the Mexico City market, joining recent additions to the portfolio: Sofitel Mexico City Reforma, which opened its doors in late 2019; Novotel Mexico City Toreo, which debuted in August 2021; and the newly opened Novotel Mexico City World Trade Center. Ennismore, of which Accor holds a majority stake, welcomed Mondrian Mexico City Condesa in late 2022, following the successful opening of SLS Cancun Hotel & Residences, the first Mexico property for the SLS brand, in February 2021.

Other projects in development in Mexico include the 240-key Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortés Resort & Residences and the 140-room Mayaliah Tulum Hotel & Residences – MGallery Hotel Collection, expected to open in 2026 and 2025, respectively.
