The Courtyard by Marriott brand is continuing to expand at pace with the launch of a new six-storey property in Downtown Winston-Salem.

Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott International’s popular 4-star brand, is growing its portfolio in promising markets despite the challenges caused by Covid19.

We find out more about its latest property in the US.

Modern design and hospitality in Winston-Salem

The 126-room Courtyard by Marriott Winston-Salem Downtown welcomes guests into a modern, inviting space. This property features the brand’s new open lobby design, complemented by rich colours stemming from the neighbouring brewery’s artwork.

In addition, retro-style patterns and strategically placed decorative lighting add unique accents that highlight the sleek black lacquer furniture and complete the vibe where New Age meets vintage style.

“The Courtyard in Downtown Winston-Salem brings a whole new experience to both visitors and residents, as it highlights the city’s vibrant culture,” said general manager Arnika Addison. “Kelsey [the hotel’s director of sales] and I are thrilled to have already built great relationships in the community, and we look forward to providing a one-of-a-kind experience for guests.”

Apart from its elegant rooms and stylish lobby, the hotel also offers a rooftop bar with a view of the West End and the historic Winston-Salem skyline, as well as a bistro ideally suited for casual dining and after-work drinks.

A fruitful partnership

The new property is owned by global private equity group Virtua Partners and its affiliated hotel operator, Hotel Equities, which also provided development services for the scheme.

“We are so proud to open this one-of-a-kind Courtyard by Marriott in the vibrant downtown district of Winston-Salem,” said Greg Presley, vice president of business development for Hotel Equities. “We have confidence that with Hotel Equities’ award-winning guest service and operational expertise, coupled with Arnika and Kelsey’s strong backgrounds in hospitality, this beautiful hotel will be an incredible addition to the community.”

Seizing a promising opportunity

Virtua Partners believes there is plenty of scope for further development in Winston-Salem, making it an attractive option for forward-looking investors. In recent years, numerous commercial and residential projects have been successful here, and more are on the horizon.

“We are seeing immense growth in Winston-Salem, which is creating a new business hub and attracting the next generation of workers,” Virtua Partners co-founder and principal Quinn Palomino explained. “Whether someone is stopping at our hotel to see family or on a business trip, we can ensure there is plenty to do in town and that Hotel Equities will provide top-of-the-line service during their stay.”
