The Belfry Hotel & Resort in Royal Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, has begun a renovation and expansion project that comes in excess of £80 million.

Expected to reach completion in autumn 2025, the significant development project will notably see the creation of an expansive new event space accommodating up to 920 people.

A significant enhancement

On completion of its renovation and expansion, The 319-key Belfry Hotel & Resort will unveil newly renovated areas alongside its flagship 852sqm new event space, named The Masters Suite, and a new Leisure Club featuring a pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, gym space, studios and a multipurpose sports area.

Some of the overall project’s enhancements have already been undertaken. The refurbishment of the existing bedrooms is already complete, along with the redesign of Brabazon Bar and Lobby, and the creation of the new outdoor event spaces, Terrace on the 10th and The Green.

Commenting on the latest expansion news, Chris Eigelaar, Resort Director, said: “The commencement of work on site is a significant moment for the entire team at The Belfry after years of planning behind the scenes.”

“Work on the new Masters Suite and the wider refurbishment is moving at quite a pace already, and it’s exciting to see the progress that’s made each day.”

A luxury event venue

The Masters Suite is designed to host up to 648 guests for banqueting or a total of 920 guests for events such as conferences, product launches and weddings.

The expansive space will have the capacity to be divided into small spaces for increased flexibility. The space will include a large pre-function area including a mezzanine level, outdoor terrace and executive boardroom.

The Master Suite’s interiors will draw in the colours of the natural surroundings as they incorporate soft greens and gold accents. Floor to ceiling windows will make the most of this site’s views over the Brabazon golf course.

“We are experiencing increased demand for large events in the luxury venue market from both new and existing customers,” said Eigelaar. “The Masters Suite will allow us to accommodate major events that we haven’t been able to cater for before.”

“The Masters Suite and adjoining bedrooms will transform our offering by providing a dedicated space for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events market. It will also be the perfect luxury venue for large weddings. We’re looking forward to building on our reputation as an outstanding business, leisure, and golf destination.”
