A luxurious new Steigenberger resort has made its debut on the shores of the Red Sea on Egypt’s east coast, around 55 km from the popular tourist hub of Hurghada.

After opening on 1 April 2021, the new five-star resort has already started welcoming guests to Soma Bay.

Deutsche Hospitality expands in Egypt

Fitted out to a high standard, this inviting Steigenberger property houses 409 rooms and suites, including three Royal Suites with their own swim-up pool and four beachfront villas housing two or three bedrooms, a kitchen and a private pool. This stylish accommodation is accompanied by five restaurants and bars serving cuisine from around the world, plus a state-of-the-art spa.

“The Steigenberger Resort Ras Soma is the 15th Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts to open in Egypt,” said Marcus Bernhardt, CEO of Deutsche Hospitality. “Our partnership with this wonderful country has grown over a period of decades, and this is reflected in fabulous hotels such as the Ras Soma.”

Located approximately 55 km from Hurghada, this is the latest Steigenberger property that Deutsche Hospitality has opened on Egypt’s east coast, joining Steigenberger Golf Resort, Steigenberger Aldau Beach Hotel, Steigenberger Aqua Magic, Steigenberger Pure Lifestyle, Steigenberger Coraya Beach and Steigenberger Makadi.

A diverse guest offering

The dining offering here includes the resort’s main restaurant, The Kahramana, which serves breakfast in the morning and Mediterranean cuisine later on. This is complemented by Benisuma, which focuses on Japanese teppanyaki and sushi as well as Indonesian and Thai cuisine, and the Arabesque, specialising in oriental and Lebanese cookery.

Elsewhere, Maya Beach Restaurant serves seafood along with tapas, Italian specialties and cocktails, while Aqua Pool Bar and the Safari Lobby Bar & Lounge serves drinks and snacks. The resort’s F&B offering is completed by the addition of Shisha Bar.

With direct access to a private sandy beach, the Red Sea resort offers various water-sports, such as diving, kite-surfing, stand-up paddling and sailing. Additional leisure facilities include tennis courts, a gym and The Midivaspa with saunas, steam baths, Jacuzzi and quiet zones.
