This reinvigorated boutique hotel in the heart of Rutland is now set to benefit from inviting new spaces including the hotel’s own health club with indoor pool.
Growing the portfolio
British hospitality brand, The Signet Collection has announced the May launch of reimagined The Barnsdale in Rutland, which joins The Retreat at Elcot Park and The Mitre in Hampton Court as the third hotel in its brand portfolio.
Hector Ross, Founder of The Signet Collection, commented: “Rutland is one of England’s hidden gems and we feel very lucky to now have a boutique hotel in this small but mighty county.”
“Perfectly poised above Rutland Water and equipped with a fantastic Rutland born and bred team, The Barnsdale has been beautifully reimagined and revitalised over the past six months and I can’t wait for all to see.”
Enhanced and new spaces
The 46-key Barnsdale continues the brand’s signature aesthetic combining quirky British sensibility and elegant authentic luxury. Highlights of the property include the 1760 brasserie named after the year the original lodge was built, and a collection of two- and three-bedroom self catering Rutland Retreats, as well as several dining rooms and a conservatory.
The courtyard garden features a boule pit, croquet lawn, the Whispering Angel bar, a kitchen garden and 150-person events barn.
The hotel’s rooms and suites are designed by London-based Taylor & Turner. Playful decor draws on the history and location of the site. Here, rosemary, basil, sage and olive coloured wallpapers, cushions, curtains and trims meet terracotta-red tables, dusty pink headboards, mahogany antique drawers and walnut bedside tables.
The hotel will welcome a new multi-use events barn with mezzanine balcony and open fires later this year, with the hotel’s own health club, Signet Spa, to follow. This health club will feature an indoor pool, mud rasul, salt flotation room, steam and sauna, state-of-the-art gym, three treatment rooms and a beauty salon. Additional amenities here are to include a farm shop and e-bike hire.
