Project of the Week: Florens Lake Resort & Spa

For THP’s project of the week, we’ve opted for the Florens Lake Resort & Spa. The suite of holiday apartments and residences are currently being built on the shores of Lake Brienz, near Switzerland’s famed Interlaken.

Serenity in a UNESCO-listed location

The Florens Lake Resort & Spa is located in Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland, just 10 minutes from Interlaken.

The region contains a breadth of natural features, including the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. Guests can enjoy the mountain landscapes, and views of the three Alpine giants – the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau.

The Florens Lake Resort & Spa’s biggest drawcard is the direct access it provides to these sights. Or, for those after a more relaxing stay, the views from the resort’s sunny south-facing residences.

Sustainably-minded design

The Florens Lake Resort & Spa uses water from Lake Brienz to cool and heat the resort, along with other resources. In addition, the electricity used is generated from renewable energy sources.

The resort has also drawn from its natural surroundings to inform the rooms’ decor, with rich green tones mimicking the nearby forest, shades of blue to embody Lake Brienz and grey and white for the towering Jungfrau mountain.

Masterminded by architect Astrid Jeulink, the living areas are also designed to reflect the view through the windows. There are a total of 155 private residences and suites on the property, with only 800m to the lakeside.

Guests at the resort may choose between two restaurants on-site and also have the option of private dining. In addition, there are also heated outdoor pools with a private harbour and boat moorings available.

Each residence comes with a parking space, the majority of which is contained in the resort’s underground car parking.
