A beautiful new boutique hotel with residences, this upcoming Andaz resort designed by the likes of RAD Architecture and Modus Operandi promises to deliver true locally inspired luxury.

The high-end project, which will be the first Andaz-branded property in the Caribbean, is aiming to break ground in the first quarter of 2021.

Securing fresh funding despite Covid19

When this resort makes its debut, it promises to provide a new level of oceanfront luxury spanning 5.5 acres of the famous beach at Grace Bay. The five-star property is being developed by Vista Development, sister company of ProNet Capital.

In October 2020, it emerged that Vista had received a new loan from Arena Investors for the construction and advancement of Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay, ensuring the project could continue to move forward.

“Covid19 presented challenges in the hospitality sector, but we are very pleased to have closed on this new line of financing with Arena Investors,” said Jon Siegel, co-managing director of Vista Development, at the time. “We appreciate Arena’s support and the continued confidence of our stakeholders, and we anticipate a great year of construction and sales ahead.”

On completion, this seven-storey development will blend the vibrant identity of the Andaz brand with the culture and history of the islands that make up Turks and Caicos. The resort will encompass 59 exclusive hotel rooms, along with 74 residences for sale ranging from studios to penthouses, which will also benefit from the hotel’s services and amenities.

Indigenous upscale design

As a brand, Andaz aims to weave the sights, sounds and tastes of a destination into each luxury lifestyle property.

At this upcoming resort, the focus is on indigenous upscale design, integrating local references and artisanal touches into modern spaces designed by RAD Architecture and Modus Operandi. The two beachfront buildings, one for the hotel and the other occupied by residences, will place visitors within footsteps of the island’s idyllic shores.

Guests and residents here will be able to enjoy the resort’s garden and indoor-outdoor spa, fitness studio, yoga pavilion and facilities for tennis and water sports such as sailing. The complex will also house three restaurants, three bars, a kids’ activity club and pools overlooking Grace Bay Beach, which was named Best Beach in the World 2018 by TripAdvisor.

As a result of the pandemic, the proposed opening date for Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay has been pushed back to Q1 2023.
