Amari Niseko will lie at the heart of the highly anticipated Aruku-zaka Street development, combining lifestyle, retail, F&B and residential elements in south-west Hokkaido.
Slated for completion in the first quarter of 2024, the resort will host travellers year-round in a contemporary scheme with 126 guestrooms and a concept restaurant.
Niseko’s newest resort
Onyx Hospitality Group signed a management agreement for Amari Niseko with the Hong Kong-based real estate development, investment and asset management firm behind Aruku-zaka Street, Metropoly Holdings, in October 2019.
Aruku-zaka Street is designed to complement the character of its surroundings while providing a village-like hub for visitors to the area, as well as the local community. This exciting mixed-use development will consist of a series of low-rise buildings positioned around central plazas and along a pedestrian walkway. The newbuild Amari resort will be joined by apartments, retail space, a lifestyle offering, and several restaurants and bars.
With its central Hirafu location, this development – the first of its kind in Niseko – is a two-hour scenic drive or train journey from New Chitose Airport in Sapporo.
A year-round destination
Catering for guests throughout the year, Amari’s forthcoming scheme will provide a base for snow sports in the winter and hiking and biking in the summer.
It’ll host 126 guestrooms in total, ranging from one-bedroom suites and studios to two-bedroom suite configurations. Amenities within the property will include a concept restaurant intended to transition from a breakfast setting and all-day noodle bar to a destination cocktail bar by night.
Meanwhile, Amari Niseko’s interiors will be distinguished by contemporary design pairing Thai characteristics, reflecting Onyx’s roots, with stylish nods to the resort’s locality.
