Amber Property Group has started construction work on Peppers Melbourne Richmond, an 80-room hotel scheme in one of Victoria’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

The highly anticipated Peppers Melbourne Richmond by local developer, owner and operator Amber Property Group is on track to open in mid-2022.

A new project for Peppers

The latest Peppers outpost, situated on the historic Bridge Road in Melbourne’s lively inner-city suburb of Richmond, will feature enticing facilities including a restaurant, state-of-the-art gym and rooftop bar with views over Melbourne Cricket Ground and the botanic gardens. Owing to its location, the bar in particular is expected to become a go-to destination during major sporting and cultural events for both locals and hotel guests.

This much-vaunted hotel will be operated by French hospitality giant Accor.

“We are excited to be growing our presence in Melbourne within the suburb of Richmond, and we are proud to be developing our partnership with Amber Property Group who recently opened The Sebel Melbourne Ringwood,” said Simon McGrath, chief executive officer for Accor Pacific. “Creating jobs and investing in the future of the tourism and accommodation sector has never been more important and it is fantastic to see the sod being turned and construction underway.”

Experiencing the energy of Richmond

The hotel will give guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the energy of Richmond and see how it feels to live like a local by exploring the café and restaurant scene of Bridge Street and nearby Swan Street, as well as the vintage and design stores of Church Street. For sports fans, the area is just three tram stops away from Melbourne Cricket Ground.

“It is fantastic to be part of the rejuvenation of Bridge Road,” said Edmond Power, general manager for Peppers Melbourne Richmond. “Peppers is going to be a wonderful catalyst and hub for regional Victorians and interstate visitors alike to enjoy what Melbourne’s inner east has to offer.

“The guestrooms and facilities will set this hotel apart from others. There is a huge sense of community pride within Richmond and we are thrilled to be part of this, we are looking forward to bringing the people of Richmond on the journey with us.”

It’s expected that the scheme will open in 2022, becoming the third Peppers hotel in Melbourne after Peppers Docklands and Shadow Play by Peppers.
