It’s bath time! We searched the TOPHOTELDESIGN database for #freestanding_bathtubs and selected five free-standing bathtubs that will take your breath away.

Who said free-standing wasn’t outstanding? Today, we searched the TOPHOTELDESIGN database for #freestanding_bathtubs and came across these five breath-taking spaces.

There’s a bit of everything here… From elegant indoor tubs creating an urban wellness oasis to outdoor baths that bring you a step closer to nature.

Wherever they are, these beautiful free-standing tubs are the perfect spot for a private moment of relaxation and a one-of-a-kind connection with the space, that will make guests feel right at home.

Zuri Zanzibar Hotel & Resort, Zanzibar City, Republic of Tanzania – by Jestico + Whiles

Clearly differentiating itself from standard hotel layouts, the Zuri Zanzibar innovates with idyllic baths. The craftsmanship combined with the use of local materials make this space designed by Jestico + Whiles, something unique. The bathroom’s environmentally friendly architecture and the colourful details dotting the space draw the eye to the bathtub in the centre of this relaxing yet enticing atmosphere.

Whitby Hotel, New York, United States – by Firmdale Hotels

This bathtub designed by Firmdale Hotels at the Whitby Hotel, represents the symbiosis of contemporary art and design with a touch of old-timey elegance. Following the hotel’s style, the marble bathrooms are beautifully decorated and come with double basins. The free-standing bath adds to the unique arrangement of the spaces and completes its carefree spirit.

Gorgeous George, Cape Town, South Africa – by Tristan Plessis Studio

Presenting a mix of contemporary design, Victorian elements, African influences and a colour palette of mixed blues and whites, this bedroom’s vintage edge is reinforced by the free-standing bathtub. Placed on a marble base next to the spacious en-suite bathroom, it completes the room’s offering of trendy furniture and locally-inspired design elements which are emphasized with perfectly placed lighting. Designed by Tristan Plessis Studio, Gorgeous George can be found in Cape Town.

Duba Plains Camp, Okavango, Botswana – by Dereck Joubert

With amazing views of the Duba floodplains and their wildlife each of the resort’s tents has a private veranda as well as indoor and outdoor showers. However, this abode’s most outstanding aspect is its imposing golden bathtub which completes the luxury glamping experience. Thanks to the careful tent design handled by Dereck Joubert, Duba Plains Camp’s space maintains a comfortable climate perfect for relaxing.

Six Senses Zil Payson, Félicité, Seychelles – Six Senses Resort & Spa

This Six Senses Resort & Spa’s bath space, offers unrivalled privacy surrounded by lush vegetation and unsurpassed ocean vistas. Surrounded by modern wooden furniture, the bathtub is set in front of a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking a peaceful island paradise. This creates the illusion of being outside all while the guest remains in the comfort of their room.
