Following a US$11 million overhaul, the former Radisson hotel in Fargo, North Dakota has joined the upscale Radisson Blu portfolio, complete with a new look and updated offering.

With the paint barely dry on recent openings in Punta Cana, Anaheim and Toronto, the Radisson Blu brand is continuing to expand its footprint throughout the Americas, with the opening of a stylish property in Fargo.

A multimillion-dollar makeover

Formerly a Radisson, the hotel has been given a six-month US$11 million-dollar upgrade to join the upscale Radisson Blu portfolio that included elevating the spaces with open floor plans, remodelling the 151 guestrooms, and adding locally inspired design elements.

Located in downtown Fargo, just four miles from Hector International Airport, the hotel, which is connected by skyway to the Fargo Civic Centre, is close to some of the city’s best attractions including the Fargodome, home of the North Dakota State University Bison football team.

Upgraded facilities and a new design

Inside Radisson Blu Fargo, the newly designed guestrooms each have views of downtown or the Red River separating North Dakota and Minnesota, while the public spaces feature a fitness centre, which has doubled in size, and 5,000 sq ft of event space.

Dining options include a 24-hour grab-and-go market in the lobby, while on the second floor, the Lounge is the best spot for visitors to enjoy a pre-prandial cocktail before heading to Eats + Drinks, which serves a menu of crowd-pleasing American favourites from classic burgers to delicious pepperoni pizzas. For those in need of privacy, there are three private dining rooms accommodating up to 16 guests each.

“Being able to open yet another Radisson Blu hotel amid the turbulence our industry has experienced over the past year is a testament to the brand and the people behind it,” said Aly El-Bassuni, chief operating officer, Americas, Radisson Hotel Group.

“The team in Fargo is made up of an outstanding group of professionals in every sense, the work they have done to make Radisson Blu Fargo extraordinary has truly paid off. We’re thrilled to bring those visiting Fargo a one-of-a-kind experience with exceptional hospitality in a unique destination.”

Targeting the business and leisure markets

A hotel for both business and leisure travellers alike, its other offerings include a fully equipped business centre, a complimentary airport shuttle service, free wifi, same-day valet dry cleaning and parking.

“We’ve spent many years creating memorable moments for our guests under the Radisson Hotel Group umbrella, and we see this transformation as a natural evolution for our hotel that has more than 35 years of history in this great city,” said the hotel’s general manager Laura Church. “Becoming a part of the Radisson Blu brand allows us to more fully express our identity as the city’s premier hotel, serving as an oasis for both local visitors and out-of-town guests.”
