JW Marriott creates Wow factor with Al Marjan development

Marriott International is to bring its luxury JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE through an agreement with US developer, Wow Resorts.

JW Marriott Al Marjan Island Resort and JW Marriott Residences Al Marjan Island are collectively valued as a US$1.3 billion development in the Al Marjan Island tourist destination.

Dual debut

The first JW Marriott-branded resort and residences on Al Marjan Island will be designed by US firm Ashai Design with Dubai-based lead consultants, Architecture Design Unit (ADU).

The project is anticipated to complete towards the end of 2026, and will also mark Wow Resorts’ debut in the UAE’s northern Emirates.

Waterfront luxury

Comprising 300 guestrooms and 524 residences, the resort will showcase uninterrupted ocean vistas and will be designed to serve both holidaymakers and those seeking luxury living.

Amenities will include a curated selection of seven dining venues, a spa, pools and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Investment boost

Regional round-up

JW Marriott has several other Middle Eastern developments in the offing, including the 297-key JW Marriott Al Dafna, West Bay coming to Qatari capital Doha in Q4 2024.

A pair of Saudi Arabian sites are also underway, JW Marriott Rua Al Madinah, bringing 252 rooms online in Medina in Q1 2026, and the 500-key JW Marriott Hotel Trojena in the west of the country, due in 2027.
