IHG’s Voco brand makes Qatari debut

An existing property with 396 rooms and suites and a prime location in the country’s bustling capital has successfully rebranded to become Voco Doha West Bay Suites.

The first Qatari scheme for IHG’s upscale brand Voco, this impressive hotel is planning to introduce new and refreshed hospitality experiences over the coming months.

A home-away-from-home vibe

The newly branded Voco Doha West Bay Suites aims to combine the reassurance of the global Voco brand with the character of the existing property. Catering for both long and short stays, it provides a home-away-from-home experience in West Bay, minutes away from Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, the city’s diplomatic and financial hub, luxury malls and various cultural sights.

Liezl Meier, general manager of Voco Doha West Bay Suites, said: “We are thrilled to open Qatar’s first Voco hotel in Doha’s most vibrant, upscale destination. The hotel benefits from the brand’s bold and distinctive identity, bringing warmth and a modern touch to our guests.

“With an excellent location, boasting upscale facilities and amenities and a unique brand experience, Voco Doha West Bay Suites is set to be a preferred destination for guests visiting Doha as well as for residents.”

A newly transformed hotel experience

The 46-storey property comprises 396 spacious rooms and suites, along with dining and drinking venues The Social, Serenitea and 35th-floor Sky Lounge. Additional highlights include a helipad, a pool deck, a kids wading pool, five meeting rooms, a spa and a 24-hour gym.

The accommodation is split into deluxe rooms, studios, and one-, two- and three-bedroom suites with modern kitchenettes, and separate living and dining areas. Integrating the hallmarks of the Voco brand, the refurbished rooms come with bedding made from 100% recycled materials, Antipodes organic amenities, complimentary wifi and smart TVs.

Guests will also benefit from the Voco brand’s signature ‘come on in’ welcome, promising a quick and simple check-in, a locally inspired welcome treat, the service of dedicated hosts throughout the stay and a 24-hour reception.

This ambitious hotel brand aims to grow to 200 properties over the next ten years. In 2022 alone, Voco Singapore, Voco Bonnington Dubai and Voco Johannesburg Rosebank have all opened their doors.

Another five Voco hotels are set to launch across the Middle East over the next three years.
