IHG announces plans to debut Holiday Inn in Bhutan

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Holiday Inn Thimphu as the first property for the brand portfolio in Bhutan.

This property strengthening IHG’s presence in southwest Asia is the result of a management agreement IHG has entered into with T&K Construction Private Limited.

Entry to Bhutan

The 100-key Holiday Inn Thimphu, aimed at both leisure and business travellers, is set to welcome its first guests in Q2 2025. Holiday Inn is the second IHG brand to enter the country, following on from Six Senses Bhutan.

Bhutan has long attracted global attention for its landscapes and culture. Holiday Inn Thimphu promises an immersive stay, in line with the government’s tourism efforts. With this hotel’s location in the country’s capital, guests will have a convenient base with easy access to Paro International Airport.

Inviting amenities

Holiday Inn Thimphu will house 100 guestrooms along with extensive amenities, catering to both leisure and business travellers, including an all-day dining restaurant, a vibrant bar, and a relaxing lobby lounge.

Guests will be able to make use of multiple meeting and events facilities, including a ballroom, a swimming pool, fitness centre and spa, while staying in well-appointed rooms and suites designed for comfort.
