Hybrid citizenM hotel to open in London Victoria

The affordable luxury hotel and lifestyle brand citizenM is opening its fourth property in central London this July.

Ten years after launching its first London hotel in Bankside, the brand is bringing its hybrid hotel model to Victoria’s Vauxhall Bridge Road.

Connecting with the local area

Designed for both business and leisure travellers, the July-opening citizenM London Victoria will provide space to sleep, work, meet and unwind, with close proximity to Victoria train and bus stations, as well as attractions such as Buckingham Palace and the Tate Britain.

With each hotel that citizenM opens, the brand looks for ways to support the local community. Through this hotel in Victoria, the brand is donating to the KSP Community Garden Project, a historic corner of Westminster that runs by the hotel.

Overall, the property reflects the brand’s approach to offering travellers luxury accommodation at affordable prices in vibrant urban locations.

Klaas van Lookeren Campagne, CEO of citizenM hotels, said: “We are excited to open the doors to our latest London property.”

“With three hotels already operating successfully in the city, this new property offers a fantastic addition to our existing portfolio and confirms our commitment to expand further in London’s most desirable neighbourhoods.”

Neighbourhood inspiration

The hotel houses 226 guest rooms across 10 floors with features including XL king-size beds, rain showers, one-touch MoodPad controls and an HD TV with streaming capabilities, also controlled via the citizenM app.

Designed by citizenM’s Amsterdam-based long-standing collaborator Concrete and architecture and interior design firm Ica, the interiors fit in with the brand’s trademark modern look combining clean lines and bold colours.

The hybrid hotel will be distinguished by its communal spaces including The Living Room for both guests and locals with curated art, books and artefacts featured alongside stylish furnishings by Vitra. The 24/7 canteenM serves food and drink including barista-made coffee throughout the day.

Local artists have been commissioned to create work for this property. Highlights include a photographic series by Luke Stephenson, artworks combining found objects and vintage photographs by Julie Cockburn and colourful compositions of Ridley Road Market in Dalston by Lorenzo Vitturi.
