Hyatt celebrates opening of new Atlanta property

A 186-room Hyatt House extended-stay hotel has opened its doors in the heart of Sandy Springs’ Pill Hill medical district in Atlanta, Georgia.

Georgia’s state capital is now home to Hyatt House Atlanta / Perimeter Center. We find out more about this interesting opening.

A new long-stay offering in Atlanta

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Legacy Ventures have collaborated to create Hyatt House Atlanta / Perimeter Center, which offers 186 guestrooms in Sandy Springs’ Pill Hill medical district.

The extended-stay property is Legacy Ventures’ fourth ground-up hotel developed in the Greater Atlanta area. General contractor Choate Construction and architecture firm Cooper Cary worked with Legacy Ventures to bring Atlanta’s forested landscape into the hotel and focus on wellness as a nod to the nearby medical offices. Construction financing was provided by Ameris Bank.

Its location close to the Altmore development puts the hotel within walking distance of Marta’s Medical Center Station and other amenities.

“In many ways, our design and construction team has had a vastly different experience with the pandemic than our hotel and restaurant operations teams; the lack of activity in the community and lower business levels in our hotels enabled them to move at an accelerated pace through the construction process,” said David Marvin, president and founder, Legacy Ventures.

Inside Hyatt House Atlanta / Perimeter Center

Hyatt House Atlanta / Perimeter Center boasts 186 rooms, including 46 apartment-style suites complete with separate living rooms and fully equipped kitchens. Guests can enjoy the daily complimentary morning spread or pick up something special from the H Bar, which serves a menu of light bites, or the 24-hour market, which sells snacks, salads and sandwiches.

Meanwhile, The Commons is an inviting lounge where guests are invited to gather and mingle. And in the summer, the Outdoor Commons will welcome residents for barbecues around its impressive fire pit.

Long-stay guests will also be interested to know that the hotel’s perks include a complimentary grocery shopping service and personalised rewards for those staying 30 or more consecutive nights.

Zsuzsa Nagy will serve as the hotel’s general manager. Kevin Richards, Legacy Ventures’ COO, Hotels, said: “Nagy’s wealth of pre-opening experience and results-driven attitude showed us that she’ll embody our ‘Make It Happen’ culture. With her leadership, we are excited to provide a compassionate and thoughtfully curated experience for all guests, whether visiting the nearby medical offices or one of the many other demand-generators of Sandy Springs and Atlanta’s central perimeter area.”
