East London’s new hotel The Gantry to open in November 2021

by | 17 Sep 2021 | Hotel Projects, Projects

The Gantry, the latest addition to the Curio Collection by Hilton brand, will feature 291 rooms and an 18th-floor rooftop bar with floor-to-ceiling windows in the heart of Stratford.

The ongoing regeneration of Stratford in east London is set to take another step forward with the imminent arrival of a new design hotel.

Bolstering Curio Collection’s ranks

The Gantry, which occupies a prime spot next to Stratford International station, has announced plans to make its long-awaited debut in November 2021. Part of Curio Collection by Hilton’s portfolio, it’ll offer 291 rooms across 17 floors, plus a range of guest amenities.

This towering scheme boasts a silhouette inspired by New York City’s Flatiron Building and showcases a design influenced by industrial east London in the Victorian era and Stratford’s historic role as a train-production hub.

East London’s highest rooftop bar

In terms of F&B, The Gantry will incorporate a ground-floor artisan food market, The Stratford Grocer, and a first-floor all-day restaurant, cocktail bar, lounge and terrace, Union Social. An 18th-floor bar – set to become the highest rooftop bar in east London – will follow in spring 2022, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces.

The property will be managed by Saurabh Kukreja, who has experience of running luxury and lifestyle hotels across the UK, the Philippines and Thailand.

The project was supported by development funding from NatWest Bank and Allied Irish Bank (GB).

Anthony Say, head of hotels at NatWest, said: “We are delighted to have assisted in the delivery of this fantastic hotel. The project has been designed and finished to a high standard and completed during an extremely challenging period. We now look forward to witnessing its opening into such an exciting and vibrant East London market.”
