Dusit Hotels and Resorts is celebrating the launch of two new properties in Bangkok and its first hotel in Japan, increasing both the domestic and international footprint of this Thai company.

These three openings follow closely on from the recent launch of Dusit’s first hotel in Europe, Dusit Suites Athens in Greece, as well as Dusit Princess Hotel Residences Nairobi in Kenya.

Brand growth

Dusit Hotels and Resorts, which is a part of one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, Dusit International, welcomed dusitD2 branded hotel in Bangkok, dusitD2 Samyan Bangkok, this May.

This was closely followed in the same month with the opening of ASAI Bangkok Sathorn, which is located near Bangkok’s central business district, close to Saint Louis BTS (Skytrain) Station.

The beginning of June then saw Dusit take its ASAI brand out of Thailand for the first time with the opening of ASAI Kyoto Shijo, which is also Dusit’s first hotel in Japan. This property places guests in the city’s Shijo-Karasuma neighbourhood, close to Nishiki Market.

“As we continue to execute our plan for domestic and global expansion, we are delighted to welcome three new hotels to our portfolio, including our first dusitD2 branded hotel in Bangkok, our second ASAI hotel in Bangkok, and our first hotel in Japan,” said Mr Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International.

“These openings represent significant milestones for our company, and we are confident that their unique positioning and distinctive lifestyle and food and beverage experiences will resonate with travellers from around the world. As we gear up for these launches, we are excited about the future and look forward to making our mark in more key international markets.”

Culturally inspired hospitality concepts

Of these three hotels, dusitD2 Samyan Bangkok provides 179 well-appointed guest rooms in a space distinguished by its sleek, modern design reflecting Thai culture and prime location on Si Phraya Road in Bangkok’s central business district.

Highlights of this property range from a stylish lobby and multi-level food and beverage concept featuring a grab-and-go gourmet outlet, all-day dining restaurant and Miami-inspired rooftop bar called Mimi to an outdoor pool with panoramic views, fitness centre and versatile meeting space.

Marking the expansion of Dusit’s lifestyle brand, ASAI Hotels, ASAI Bangkok Sathorn builds on the success of the highly rated ASAI Bangkok Chinatown by continuing its approach to linking guests with authentic local experiences in the vibrant neighbourhood it’s a part of.

The hotel has 106 thoughtfully designed compact guest rooms along with spacious and welcoming communal space encompassing a cosy neighbourhood bar, co-working area and unique dining experience by award-winning chefs Duangporn “Bo” Songvisava and Dylan Jones.

In its appealing Shijo-Karasuma location, ASAI Kyoto Shijo then offers accommodation in 114 of the brand’s compact rooms designed with comfort and convenience in mind, alongside a large communal hub for work, rest and play, and a dining room that’s inspired by Bangkok’s street food culture.

Another nine properties are now set to open across the world by the end of the year. Notable, these launches include Dusit’s first hotel in Nepal, its second property in Japan and its strategic return to India.
