Crowne Plaza makes its debut in Hungary
IHG has opened a 230-key property celebrating the importance of human connection, featuring a host of vibrant spaces open to guests and locals alike, in the country’s capital.
Crowne Plaza Budapest promises to be a haven for travellers who want to work on the go, as well as those needing a comfortable base from which to explore the city.
A contemporary city escape
IHG has hailed the successful launch of the first Hungarian property under its premium hotel brand Crowne Plaza. Located in the heart of the country’s capital, the 230-key Crowne Plaza Budapest includes a mix of rooms and suites near many of the city’s most exciting neighbourhoods.
It’s situated in the east of the city, Pest – a hub for commerce that’s also home to many trendy bars and eateries. The hotel’s design is geared towards the modern traveller, someone who combines business and leisure as part of their lifestyle, and takes their work with them wherever they go.
Maurice Janssen, general manager, Crowne Plaza Budapest, said: “During 2020, we had time to reflect on the things that we take for granted and what has been missed through the lack of travel: the importance of human connection. There has been a distinctive shift in people’s mindset when it comes to business travel.
“No longer do hotel guests need to feel isolated in their rooms or confined to a business centre to feel productive, and no longer do locals need to be hesitant to walk into a hotel lobby to have a coffee and do some emails for fear of being asked for their room number – the spaces within our hotel are open to all, and we are very much looking forward to hosting our future guests and locals alike.”
Coworking, comfort and class
Crowne Plaza Budapest benefits from its prime location next to the historic Nyugati train station, ensuring excellent connectivity with the rest of the city and beyond.
Guestrooms feature a desk area where travellers can work in private, while there’s also the Plaza Workspace, a flexible space where guests can collaborate and hold meetings in person or online. Business travellers will doubtless be pleased to know that there are 13 meeting rooms and event spaces that can be rented out too.
In terms of F&B, Axis Café and Lounge serves breakfast, à la carte dishes, coffee sourced by Hungarian-born connoisseur Laszlo Banyai and cakes made by local specialist Hiszteria, while hip rooftop restaurant Cult will follow in early 2022.
