This neighbourhood inspired property will bring guests together with the community through locally influenced design and social hubs including a rooftop lounge.

City brand debut

Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa is now welcoming guests and locals into a space combining the services and amenities of this elevated boutique hotel with new social venues and a locally inspired experience.

The hotel spans 78,000 sq ft across 12 storeys in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMa) district. This location places guests right by Union Square, Mission Bay, Oracle Park and Moscone Center, as well as within walking distance of Yerba Buena Gardens and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

“The opening of Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa marks Hilton’s first lifestyle hotel in the city,” said Jenna Hackett, brand leader, Canopy by Hilton. “Joining close to 40 Canopy by Hilton properties around the world, this hotel invites travellers and locals alike to experience sophisticated comfort, elevated design and bespoke culinary offerings that are a natural extension of the neighbourhood.”

Jeff Ossenkop, general manager, added: “We are thrilled to welcome guests to Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, where it is our mission to offer guests a place to gather for an upscale, authentically local experience. Surrounded by boutique shops, renowned restaurants, esteemed art galleries and more, we look forward to becoming an active member of this exciting SoMa community.”

Local connection

The new hotel houses 194 guest rooms, including two penthouse suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows for views over the city, modern amenities like SMEG mini-fridges and Nespresso machines, and thoughtful design touches including sliding barn doors and large walk-in rain showers. The furnishings and art of this property are chosen to reflect the hotel’s locale.
