Art Trends for Hotel in 2023

At Spires Art, our team of art consultants are always on the lookout for the latest trends. We work closely with our network of interior designers and architects to create stylish art installations for our clients.

Looking ahead towards the rest of the year, we’ve compiled a list of the top five art trends to watch out for in 2023.

  1. Pantone colour of the year is Viva Magenta 18-1750, which packs a powerful punch. It vibrates with vim and vigour. Described by the Pantone Institute of Colour as “Powerful and Empowering. It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation & self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement. It welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a colour that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all”. This brave and fearless choice of colour is sure to be a top choice and favourite throughout 2023.
  2. Bold abstract designs in the world of art and interior design, we’re beginning to see somewhat of a shift away from a ‘less is more’ approach, as the maximalism trend gains popularity. Striking abstract pieces featuring vivid colours and unique shapes are making a serious comeback this year, and you can expect to see more ‘maximalist’ styles making their way into the mainstream in years to come.
  3. Gallery walls Still very much on-trend and likely to grow in popularity for many years to come, gallery walls are a fantastic way to create impact and inject personality into any space. Giving you endless opportunity for creativity, gallery walls allow you to tell a unique story with a combination of prints, frames, mirrors and whatever else you can imagine.
  4. Calming hues Bold abstracts may have made a comeback in 2022, but there will always be a place for beautiful neutral palettes. In a time when physical and mental health is a priority for many, these calming hues inspired by nature can be used to carve out relaxing spaces and sanctuaries for personal wellness. Soft colours and dreamy landscapes help to create spaces that allow for total relaxation and exhalation.
  5. Outside-in: The skyrocketing popularity of houseplants has proven that foliage is still fashionable! This love affair with the outdoors is beginning to work its way into many artworks, with succulents, botanicals and tropical flowers becoming inspiration for pieces that breathe life into interiors. We expect this trend to be hugely popular in the coming months and years, particularly in ultra-modern spaces that make use of contemporary photography and digital illustrations
