Ruby Luna is now open in Düsseldorf

Ruby Hotels has launched its third Düsseldorf hotel, Ruby Luna, which boasts a memorable design aesthetic inspired by the Space Age.

This new hotel in Kasernenstraße is being positioned by Ruby as its flagship Düsseldorf property.

Ruby checks into a former bank building

Now welcoming in its first guests, Ruby Luna occupies the former Commerzbank building, widely considered one of Germany’s most significant high-rises. This well-located property lies between Königsallee and its many boutiques and the market area of Carlsplatz.

“Ruby Luna is architecturally unique and our interior design team has contributed with a lot of charm to ensure that every guest will enjoy a wonderful stay,” said Konstantin Olbrecht, who has taken over management of Ruby Luna. “Düsseldorf is and will continue to be an important business location. We are confident that our business will pick up in a timely manner.”

“Düsseldorf is one of the most exciting cities in Germany for Ruby,” said Michael Struck, CEO and founder of Ruby Hotels. “It’s a no-brainer that we would want to be represented here with three hotels and a workspace. Whilst our guests can benefit from a wider choice of availability, locations and experiences, Ruby can benefit from the operational synergies in staffing and purchasing.”

In keeping with the rest of the group’s hotels, Ruby Luna will showcase a ‘Lean Luxury’ philosophy, offering a stay in a prime location with high-quality furnishings and outstanding design for an affordable price.

Space Age-inspired design

Ruby Luna covers 6,300 sq m in total, housing 206 rooms, ranging from the cosy Nest to expansive Loft. Its 13 floors are also home to a stylish 24-hour bar, café and lounge.

This property’s design is inspired by the optimism of the 1950s and 1960s, referencing man’s first steps into space with interior elements that bring the Space Age to life, while its bar stands out thanks to the use of gold-tinted glass panes, terrazzo and flagstone tiles. The hotel has three publicly accessible outdoor areas: the main entrance’s terrace, decked in Ruby branding; the peaceful Lunar Dunes courtyard, which is inspired by an extra-terrestrial desert landscape; and the 13th-floor Observatory Bar, offering panoramic views and an ideal spot for stargazing.

By staying here, guests are just a short walk from the old town, Schloßturm, Tonhalle and Rhine promenade, as well as Benrather Straße train station.
