Home » ReSource, Our Way of Saying Eco.
The process that gives tangible value to ecological responsibility is never a trivial story. To restore meaning to words and concepts whose overuse has stripped them of significance, it’s essential to reflect and return to their roots. Rediscovering the meaning of the word “eco,” for example, signifies a new way of working, which we pursue with great commitment and awareness. The prefix “eco” comes from the Greek word òikos, meaning home and the environment in which we live—a concept so aligned with our product that it inspired us to find our personal way of expressing it. If ecology is the study of the environment we live in and an ecosystem is the structure of an environment that exists in balance and harmony, we asked ourselves: how can we design a product that fits concretely into this logic?
Our answer to this question gave rise to a new brand that encompasses all collections designed and produced according to specific production standards. ReSource is the name of a new production approach that reclaims waste, encapsulating the following practices:
These are the pillars of sustainable production, which have become the focus of our daily efforts.
ReSource adds value to what was once considered waste, transforming it into a precious resource.
This idea lays the foundation for a new, alternative, and circular production model, increasingly focused on regeneration and efficiency, observing and respecting natural balance, where nothing is lost.
In nature, every process naturally tends toward reducing waste, ensuring economical management of energy and resources. Natural balances always aim to recover waste, which inevitably becomes material useful for new life cycles.
In industrial production processes, achieving the same results is possible, but it requires effort, conscious intent, and intelligent approaches. Viewing waste as a resource to be used efficiently means deciding to transform it into added value. This decision requires a different way of thinking and designing.
What do we do concretely? Thanks to continuous evolution in our production process, we have found a solution to increase the percentage of recycled material derived from production waste. In the sustainability logic, numbers make the difference because they speak the language of concrete, tangible solutions. Thus, in the regeneration process, we mix:
This results in a total of 60.2% recycled material.
Beyond the percentage of recycled content, ReSource products feature a slab thickness of 8 mm—a choice that reflects the sustainable footprint of a product that doesn’t compromise on design or functionality while maintaining high-quality standards. This seemingly minor technical detail, however, has a significant impact. It translates to reduced material use and lower energy consumption during production. Additionally, in the transportation phase, this choice allows for more product to be loaded per shipment, optimizing load space and improving logistical efficiency, which in turn leads to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions per square meter delivered to our customers.
With ReSource, we create porcelain stoneware surfaces that tell a new story of design and functionality with a low environmental impact.
This is a project through which we have achieved excellent results and that inspires us, with enthusiasm, to commit to further implementation in the future.
Mirage designs and produces porcelain stoneware floors and coverings for commercial, public and residential spaces.
