The Singapore-born Quincy brand is set to make its debut in Australia with the upcoming opening of Quincy Hotel Melbourne.
Signature dining venues, sensory experiences and a quirky take on room service are just some of the characteristics that guests can expect from Quincy Hotel Melbourne when it opens in early 2021. We find out more about this upcoming property.
South-East Asia meets Melbourne
Speaking at the Australasian Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition in early September 2020, TFE Hotels’ CEO Antony Ritch announced that the Quincy brand would soon be making its long-awaited Australian debut.
“We are thrilled to introduce Far East Hospitality’s colourful Quincy brand into Australia early next year,” he said. “With Quincy we are bringing the sights, sounds and most importantly flavours of South-East Asia to Australia. And, whilst we have a long way to go before opening, our team is busy setting the benchmark for Quincy Hotels Australia and putting the finishing touches on what we think is Australia’s most exciting new hotel brand.”
Just like Quincy Hotel in Singapore, Quincy Hotel Melbourne will deliberately stray from a cookie-cutter approach to hospitality. This is a brand that’s aimed at a generation on the go and one that relishes individuality. In the new 241-room property’s case, this approach will be expressed with a distinctive South-East Asia-meets-Melbourne spin.
An Australian spin on the Quincy lifestyle
Upper midscale in category, Quincy hotels are aimed at social urbanites looking to experience culture as well as the finer things in life. In line with this concept, Quincy Hotel Melbourne will encompass distinct architectural and interior design, three dining experiences, a rooftop pool overlooking the Melbourne CBD and exclusive club levels with lounge access.
“Quincy will immerse our guests in a colourful and contemporary experience unlike anything that’s currently available in Australia,” said Ritch. “And we’ve got a street address to match. Right in the middle of one of Australia’s best lifestyle precincts at the top of Flinders Lane.” This site places the hotel across from the Rialto and five minutes from the Crown Plaza complex.
The hotel is owned by InterGlobe Enterprises UK, and company director David Baffsky explained that Quincy Hotel Melbourne represents its first foray into the Australian market, taking its international hotel count to 13 properties across the world.
“InterGlobe Enterprises is pleased to partner with TFE Hotels to bring the Quincy brand into Australia,” he added. “Quincy Melbourne is a great representation of how the Australian hospitality industry continues to evolve and bring new experiences to its dynamic landscape.”
TFE Hotels (Toga Far East Hotels) is a leading hotel operator across Australia, NZ and Europe with strong Asian connections.
