One Hundred Shoreditch to launch in autumn 2021

Lore Group will open a 258-room hotel on the former Ace Hotel London Shoreditch site, with creative director Jacu Strauss promising a design that “reflects how Shoreditch has evolved”.

Fresh details have emerged about plans to revamp a high-profile building in the sought-after East London district of Shoreditch.

Reinventing 100 Shoreditch High Street

It’s been nine months since news broke that Ace Hotel London Shoreditch, the hip lifestyle brand’s first property outside the US, would not reopen following the pandemic – ending its seven-year stay in the city. Now, Lore Group has outlined proposals to open a new independent hotel at the same spot, 100 Shoreditch High Street, in autumn 2021.

Lore Group, the hospitality company behind schemes like Sea Containers London, Pulitzer Amsterdam, Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC, said that One Hundred Shoreditch would feature the largest choice of restaurants and bars within one hotel in the area. Its extensive F&B offering will include a restaurant and wine bar specialising in local and sustainably sourced seafood, an expanded rooftop bar and terrace with eye-catching views, a destination cocktail bar, a coffee shop, a lobby bar and a take-out hatch.

David Taylor, Lore Group’s chief operating officer, said: “The opening of our new hotel in Shoreditch reflects the growth and evolution that have taken place over the last 15 years in the area. We will offer something for everyone across our six restaurants and bars and 258 tranquil bedrooms, all representing consistently good value.”

Catering for a diverse clientele

One Hundred Shoreditch will feature five flexible meeting and events spaces, capable of accommodating everything from meetings and receptions to private dining and weddings. Its largest space will be surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass.

The property’s design is being led by Lore Group creative director Jacu Strauss and his team.

Strauss, who has previously worked on projects like Dandelyan, Lyaness and Super Lyan alongside celebrated London-based bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana (better known as Mr Lyan), explained: “The redesign reflects how Shoreditch has evolved during the last decade with the interiors mirroring the new grown-up character of the neighborhood. In the guestrooms, emphasis is placed on calm and comfort, while the restaurant and bar spaces retain the fun and energy for which this part of London is so well-known.

“In the case of One Hundred Shoreditch, we wanted to work with elements of the previous design, and in doing so embrace a sustainable approach by keeping some features and enhancing them to elevate the design and create a new guest experience.”

The project team also includes Red Construction Group (contractor), Henley Halebrown (architect), Quantem Consulting (professional quantity surveyor), Concert (project manager) and Flatt Consulting (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).
