Hilton Worldwide’s full-service brand Tapestry Collection has added a new seven-story property in the heart of downtown Knoxville.

Cumberland House Knoxville celebrates its home city

Cumberland House Knoxville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is the result of a comprehensive renovation of an existing hotel. The impressive transformation hinged on the concept of channelling the city’s historic character.

“The Cumberland House pays tribute to the artistry, creativity, and possibility of the historic Knoxville textile and button manufacturing industry. Throughout the hotel, travellers will encounter an authentic sense of place, gracious hospitality and enriching experiences that capture the heart of this great city and exudes the unique qualities of Tapestry Collection by Hilton,” said Patrick Short, president, Peachtree Hospitality Management, which manages the hotel.

Understated elegance at Cumberland House Knoxville

The hotel’s emblem is a button, a homage to the textile industry and a symbol of simple functionality, but one that can be embellished as desired. This trait is echoed in both the design and service at Cumberland House Knoxville, which is understated, but elegant and professional.

TeDra George, general manager, Cumberland House Knoxville, explained: “Not only do we have a great team ready to welcome our guests, but everything about this beautiful property is well-thought-out, intentional, inviting and will surely inspire lasting memories. For me, it is truly an honour to deliver a hotel that celebrates the city’s storied past with the modern expectations of today’s traveller.”

Convenience and connectedness

Upon entry, guests will be greeted by a lively social hub, where they can check in and grab a drink at the lobby bar. Encouraging connection is a theme carried throughout the hotel, from the interactive artworks in the reception area to the link between earth and table that forms the ethos of the Tussie Mussie restaurant, an eatery inspired by Appalachian cuisine.

Business travellers can avail themselves of 3,500 sq m of flexible meeting and event space, meanwhile, which includes a ballroom and two meeting rooms. The property also offers convenient access to World’s Fair Park, the Knoxville Convention Center, the University of Tennessee, Neyland Stadium, Knoxville Museum of Art and the Tennessee River.

Cumberland House Knoxville is owned by Peachtree Hotel Group.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a gathering of original hotels chosen because of a commitment to being anything but generic.
