Menin Hospitality and Maxwelle Real Estate Group have announced the opening of Gale Chicago, which aims to build on the hotel brand’s popularity in Miami Beach.

Formerly home to Raffaello Hotel, this property has been treated to a luxurious update ahead of its reinvention as Gale Chicago. Menin Hospitality is continuing to manage the scheme.

A new era for a historic landmark

Signifying the Gale brand’s expansion outside of Florida, the new Gale Chicago occupies a 16-storey, neo-renaissance-style apartment block dating back to 1926. Known originally as Hampshire House, this building lies off Michigan Avenue and Magnificent Mile in the city’s downtown area.

“For nearly a decade the Gale Hotel brand has created a bold statement in the travel industry, offering unparalleled experiences for those who are seeking an immersive vacation or business trip,” said Jared Galbut, managing principal at Menin Hospitality. “Due to the success of our Miami Beach location, we are thrilled to expand outside of the state with the launch of Gale Chicago.”

Eye-catching interiors

The newly transformed property, which features rooftop terraces with impressive views over the cityscape and Lake Michigan, is fitted with an array of contemporary amenities. All guestrooms have been renovated and enhanced by the addition of a work desk, a reading bench with overhead sconces and marble accents.

Distinguishing design features throughout include playful wallpaper and a curated collection of art, highlighting the city’s attractions and championing local. The guests’ first impressions upon entering the lobby from East Delaware Street are dominated by floor-to-ceiling domed windows alongside custom light fixtures, luxurious lounge seating and a classic filament round chandelier.

While staying at Gale Chicago, visitors have easy access to various prominent sights, including Navy Pier, Rush Street, the Hancock Observatory, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Lincoln Park Zoo and North Avenue Beach.
