Geberit: Dealing with unwelcome odours

Fresh air with Geberit Features

It is often the case that hotel bathrooms are not fitted with windows. As a result, unpleasant odours can become trapped inside the room. Read on to find out which Geberit products are fitted with odour filters and how they work.

At first glance, most bathrooms appear fresh and clean. From time to time, however, they can be subjected to fairly unpleasant odours that have a tendency to linger. Odour filters, which work in a similar way to the extraction hoods used in kitchens, were therefore developed for use in bathrooms many years ago. The air is extracted directly from the WC pan via a conduit pipe, cleaned in the integrated active carbon filter and then fed back into the room almost noiselessly via the ventilation slots at the side of the actuator plate. This will keep any bathroom smelling pleasant and fresh.

Geberit AquaClean shower toilets with odour extraction unit

Geberit AquaClean shower toilets create a feeling of freshness in more ways than one – not only do they give you that fresh-out-of-the-shower feeling, they also keep your bathroom smelling fresh thanks to the integrated odour extraction unit. The Mera Comfort, Mera Classic and Tuma Comfort models are fitted with an odour extraction unit as standard in order to keep bathrooms smelling clean and pleasant around the clock.

Geberit DuoFresh module

If you want to ensure good air quality in the bathroom, there’s no need to wait until the next full-scale refurbishment is due. The Geberit DuoFresh module is an innovative and flexible solution which eliminates odours from the WC. The module can be retrofitted on all Sigma line concealed cisterns from 2008 onwards without any trouble. The only prerequisite for installation is a mains connection for the WC – if a connection is not already available, one can usually be retrofitted. Hotel owners looking to add a special touch for their guests can opt for a DuoFresh module complete with orientation light. And speaking of the orientation light and odour extraction unit – the Geberit Monolith Plus sanitary module also comes with both features.

An extra tip for fresh air

The odour extraction unit is fitted with a drawer for Geberit DuoFresh sticks. The stick delivers a subtle fragrance directly to the flush water – so every flush brings added freshness to the WC. This solution is more attractive than a conventional hang-in toilet bowl cleaner, and is also more hygienic.
