Hotel Bellerive au Lac in Zurich is soon to join the ranks of Ameron Hotels
The Althoff Group is set to take over the prestigious 4-star Bellerive au Lac in Zurich by Q4 2020 and add it to their growing Ameron Hotels portfolio.
Modern touch for a Zurich landmark
Previously under Deutsche Hospitality’s Steigenberger Hotel brand, the Bellerive au Lac will be the third property under the Ameron umbrella, joining the Ameron Swiss Mountain Hotel in Davos-Platz and the Ameron Luzern Hotel Flora in Lucerne.
Starting from January 2020, the four-star hotel will undergo complete renovation before reopening as Switzerland’s third Ameron Hotel and first Ameron Boutique Hotel by Q4 2020.
The finished property will feature 60 rooms and suites as well as a wide gastronomic offering and versatile events spaces.
Thomas H. Althoff, founder and owner of Cologne-based Althoff Hotels commented: “We have been looking for a location in Zurich for some time. The goal was to add another property to our Swiss portfolio consisting of the Ameron Hotels in Lucerne and Davos. After looking into several options, we have now found the fitting property. The Bellerive au Lac is an establishment rich in tradition and perfectly situated right on the lakeshore. The hotel’s size and layout make it the perfect fit for an Ameron Boutique Hotel.”
Valentin Müller, CEO at UTO Real Estate Management AG and representative of the hotel’s owners’ association, says: “We are very excited that Althoff Hotels will be running the hotel under their successful Ameron brand. This way, the property’s heritage will live on in a modern interpretation.”
Althoff Group’s growing portfolio
As part of Althoff Hotels, Ameron currently operates eight four-star hotels in Germany and Switzerland.
The hotels are set apart by their dedication to high-quality service and excellent locations. Their top-notch architecture and interior design create a stylish yet refined atmosphere.
Every hotel has its own unique character, thus bringing to life Ameron’s vision of “a world of many worlds.”
Apart from the three Swiss properties mentioned above, Ameron manages hotels in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Bonn and Hohenschwangau, right at the foot of King Ludwig’s famed Neuschwanstein castle.
By 2020, two new openings in Frankfurt and Munich will further enhance the group’s footprint in Germany.
