Minor Hotels sets two ambitious projects in motion to debut its Avani and Oaks brands in Myanmar by 2024.

Minor Hotels has started construction work for the 250-room Avani Yangon Hotel and 221-key Oaks Yangon.

The two hotels are being developed as part of a management agreement with Kajima Yankin PPP, a wholly-capitalized subsidiary of Kajima Overseas Asia.

Bringing a new lifestyle destination to Yangon

Upon completion, which is scheduled for 2024, the two properties will occupy two buildings which are part of a mixed-use development, complete with office and retail space as well as an urban park in central Yangon.

Avani Yangon Hotel and Oaks Yangon will be in Yankin township, an area known for its shopping, pagodas and the picturesque Inya Lake. Yangon International Airport and the city’s charming old town will only be a short drive away.

“Together with Minor Hotels, Kajima will set a new benchmark for hospitality excellence and service in Yangon,” said Keisuke Koshijima, Managing Director of Kajima Overseas Asia.

“The hotel and residences will offer a contemporary style for world travellers with excellent access to premium office space as well as retail locations.”

A sneak peek at Minor’s two new hotels

Avani Yangon Hotel will feature 250 comfortable guest rooms with standard rooms measuring 39 sqm. Dining options include an all-day dining venue and a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Guests will find the signature Avani style throughout the hotel, in the executive lounge, the ballroom, and meeting facilities. And of course, no Avani property would be complete without the Avani Pantry, AvaniSpa, and the AvaniFit-inspired fitness centre.

Oaks Yangon will feature 221 spacious rooms with a minimum size of 56 sqm, along with amenities and facilities targeted at long stay guests. This will include all-day dining options, a kids’ club, a swimming pool and fitness facilities.

“We are very excited to partner with the highly respected Kajima to launch our brands in Myanmar,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO Minor Hotels. “The Avani and Oaks hotels will attract a diverse range of travellers and meet the market’s increasing demand for short and long-term accommodation.”
