Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has expanded its presence in Japan with the introduction of its Ramada Encore by Wyndham brand to the country.

The 235-key Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki is the first international hotel to open in the city of Amagasaki in Japan’s Hyōgo Prefecture.

Brand growth in Japan

The second hotel Wyndham manages with Wyndham Destinations Japan, Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki is now open in a location that places guests within walking distance of Amagasaki and Hanshin train stations.

The affordable hotel aimed at business and leisure as well as domestic travellers is less than 30 minutes from Osaka and near to attractions including Koshien Stadium, Universal Studios Japan and the third-largest port city in Japan, Kobe.

“As the first Ramada Encore by Wyndham hotel in Japan, this opening demonstrates the long-term potential we see in the market and underlines our commitment to make hotel travel possible for all by introducing new brands to Asia Pacific,” said Joon Aun Ooi, President, Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

“As travellers continue to seek out refreshing experiences in new cities, our growing presence in the country will enable us to warmly welcome our guests with our iconic “Count on Me” service culture. Famous for its historical and cultural landmarks, Amagasaki offers guests an escape from city life and boundless opportunities to dine, wine and unwind in its famed onsens.”

Providing connectivity

This new hotel takes on the signature hospitality concept of the Ramada Encore by Wyndham brand, which aims to offer vibrancy, energy and approachability.

Designed to afford modern travellers’ connectivity, the property offers well-designed rooms and multi-functional common areas combining a lobby, reception, restaurant and bar. The popular Izakaya A-Un of this site’s former hotel will remain a distinct feature of the property.

Over the coming months, the Wyndham Destinations Japan team will continue to make enhancements to the common areas and guest rooms.

Commenting on the opening, Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director International Operations, Wyndham Destinations, said: “Adding the Ramada Encore by Wyndham Amagasaki to our portfolio of managed properties in Japan will help us to add value to more people from across the country and around the world at a time when consumer confidence – as well as curiosity about destinations that are a bit off the beaten path – are growing.”
