Wyndham inks superyacht resort for Alltra’s Asian debut

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement to launch the first Wyndham Alltra in Asia Pacific in the form of a moored luxury yacht resort.

The deal is a partnership with Vietnamese private yacht manufacturer, Alliga Eternity Company Limited.

Onboard resort

Named Wyndham Alltra Cat Ba, the 300-cabin superyacht resort will be docked in the sea off Cat Ba Island in Vietnam’s Halong Bay.

This will be the first project under the Wyndham and Alliga partnership, with an expected opening of June 2026. In addition, the superyacht will house eight food and beverage outlets, a series of meeting rooms, swimming pool and gym.

Key strategic market

Eudo Chan, senior director, development, south east Asia and Pacific for Wyndham, said: “Vietnam has been and will be a key strategic market for Wyndham in the coming years, especially as its tourism sector continues picking up. By signing this milestone project with Alliga, we are reinforcing our commitment to deliver sustainable growth of new brands in the market, coupled with innovative concepts and offerings.

“Wyndham Alltra Cat Ba will be our first stationary superyacht in Asia Pacific and will join our existing Vietnam portfolio of 15 hotels across varying brands. We are looking forward to working with Alliga, to continue bringing our signature ‘count on me’ service to a wider range of guests.”

New chapter

Bùi Viết Quân, chairman of Alliga, added: “We are extremely glad to have found a valuable partner in Wyndham to share our like-minded goals and objectives.

“With this being our first superyacht project, it is a logical choice to tap on Wyndham’s expertise and market experience to embark on this new chapter to cater to more guests – both locals and tourists alike.”

Second superyacht

Alliga and Wyndham plan to work together to explore opportunities to deliver additional properties signed as franchisees of the Wyndham Alltra brand over the course of the next few years. Already in the works, Alliga is also planning to build a second superyacht resort in Nha Trang, central coastal city of Vietnam, further demonstrating its confidence and trust in Wyndham.

Wyndham has more than 1,600 hotels in approximately 20 markets and territories in Asia Pacific. The group pipeline in Vietnam includes Wyndham Garden Phu Quoc, an all-villa resort, each with its own private pool and patio, due to arrive in Q4 this year; Wyndham Resort Beau Rivage Nha Trang, bringing a massive 1,709 keys online in Q1 2024 as part of a mixed use development; plus Wyndham Soleil Danang, an 865-room luxury hotel within a four tower complex scheduled to complete in Q2 2024.
