Where all roads lead: new Radisson Blu coming to Rome [Infographic]
Due to be fully renovated by Q1 2021, the new Radisson Blu hotel in Rome will mark the group’s third hotel in Italy’s booming tourism capital
The property will mark the third hotel for the group in the city of Rome.
Radisson is in the process upping its Italian portfolio to a total of eight hotels and nearly 1,500 rooms, including those that are both in operation or under development.
Set to arrive in Italy’s most popular tourist destination, the Radisson Blu GHR Rome will provide guests with a unique opportunity to experience the best of the Eternal City’s historical, cultural and sporting attractions.
Whether it’s a visit to the Vatican City, a concert at the nearby Auditorium Parco Della Musica or an event at the Foro Italico (home to ATP Italian Open tennis tournament), a stay at this new Radisson Blu hotel will have something for everyone.
What stakeholders had to say
Stakeholders, of course, are excited about the property.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We’re excited to add this well-established 300-room hotel to the Radisson Blu network. It complements our existing hotel in the city as well as the new Radisson Blu under construction within Fiumicino Airport.”
“Radisson Blu remains the largest upper upscale brand in Europe, and Italy is a key market for growth in the foreseeable future,” Younes added.
Anna Maria Paradiso, representative of the Puccini family, owners of the hotel, added: “We originally opened the Grand Hotel Ritz – along with its sister property the Hotel Regent – for the 1960 Olympic games in Rome. We’re delighted to take the hotel into a new era in partnership with Radisson Hotel Group. We’re excited to be able to keep the Puccini dynasty alive while breathing new life into this iconic hotel under the Radisson Blu banner.”
Due to be fully renovated by Q1 2021, Radisson Blu GHR Rome will feature 297 rooms, including 41 junior suites and 10 suites.
Guests will have the chance to enjoy a wide range of delicious dishes and locally inspired drinks at the hotel’s restaurant & bar – as well as taking in views of the Eternal City from another rooftop restaurant. Leisure facilities will include a spa and a fitness center for guests looking to maintain their wellness regimes while on their travels.
The hotel will provide business travelers with the ideal location to hold a meeting or event, as the Radisson Blu GHR Rome will offer five meeting rooms, totaling 485 sqm of event space.
Situated in Rome’s Parioli neighborhood (known as one of the most elegant residential areas in the city), the hotel will offer both business and leisure guests the ideal location from which to base themselves.
Just 2 km from the historic city center, sightseers will find it easy to visit all of Rome’s top attractions, including the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain.
The Radisson Blu GHR Rome will be easily accessible by rail, bus, and car – near the Piazza Euclide train station and a bus ride away from the city’s metro network.
