During 2020, the owners of the Westin Indianapolis decided to undertake a massive renovation, which encompassed not only all guest rooms, but also public spaces.
A major part of this renovation consisted of the fitness space. Originally, there was a swimming pool next to the fitness room on the third floor, which unfortunately was not used much and was very expensive to maintain. So, after analyzing the needs of their guests and realizing that the Westin Indianapolis was home to many sports teams, they decided to fill in the pool and create an exceptional fitness space.
To meet this challenge and create a fitness experience that would delight guests, the Westin Indianapolis partnered with Life Fitness, the leading global provider of commercial fitness equipment.
The project was outlined together with Life Fitness and The Westin. The Westin traded in existing equipment to clear the space during construction. Over the two-year construction period they installed a temporary fitness facility in a conference space to provide hotel guests the gym experience they’re accustomed to.
Guests are increasingly prioritizing health and wellness and expect to find fitness experiences in their hotels similar to those they find in their health centers in order to maintain their healthy habits and routines.
To meet guests’ needs and exceed expectations, the goal was clear. A robust WestinWORKOUT had to be created that could offer a wide variety of cardio and functional strength exercises, as well as a large stretching and yoga studio.
To accomplish this, a wide range of Life Fitness products were selected to bring to life the fitness facility capable of meeting the challenge:

- Well-selected strength training machines make ideal use of the space and provide workout options for everyone from beginners to pro athletes.
- Functional training elements like the Heat Row and the SYNRGY system complement the offering.
