The rebirth of a legend – voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley

An iconic estate in Australia’s Hunter Valley begins its new life as voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley under InterContinental Hotels Group

InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) newest upscale brand voco receives a new member of the team, as the voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley opens in Australia after the extensive rebranding.

Known as one of Hunter Valley’s most impressive and well-known country estates, it is close to some of Australia’s best wineries.

Hunter Valley estate gets IHG rebrand

Locals and foreigners alike flock to Australia’s famous Hunter Valley to experience the rambling Australian countryside, and, of course, the region’s famous wine.

One of the best places to stay in the area, the Kirkton Park Estate, just got a new lease of life after a refresh and rebrand to bring it under the umbrella of one of IHG’s newest upscale brands.

voco is a contemporary lifestyle brand, and the Hunter Valley property is the second voco-branded hotel in the Australian portfolio, following in the footsteps of the inaugural hotel on the Gold Coast. Globally, voco now operates five hotels.

Signature voco style and offering in Australia

Although voco only has two properties to its name, it has already developed a defined character and identity, which shines through here in the voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley.

This pristine 70-room estate sits on 70 acres of manicured land and gardens. The surrounding rolling hills and dales promise guests languid afternoons spent sipping wine in the nearby vineyards.

In the IHG brand refresh, the rooms were expertly crafted and curated and now exemplify voco’s mission to bring taste and comfort to all guests.

The revamped interior is the brainchild of designer Greg Natale, who has worked with IHG before, and has channelled the spirit of voco in the bold colours, such as the pops of yellow, and hand-crafted textiles, which evoke a sense of place.

All guest rooms are equipped with unrivalled levels of comfort in the bedding, and thoughtful touches such as a plethora of Aveda amenities and welcome gifts of local lavender nougat.

The estate also promotes sustainable tourism, and guests can visit the vegetable garden, which provides stock for the on-site restaurant, and feeds into the estate’s “paddock to plate” ethos.

A healthy lifestyle is also par for the course at the voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley, with tennis courts, an indoor pool and gym available for guests.

voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley General Manager, Penny Crossley, said: “Guests have a revived appetite for bold, new experiences – and we know dining continues to be one of the leading reasons we choose to travel. The Hunter Valley is renowned for its exceptional food and wine offering, so it is tremendously exciting to introduce voco to the region to enhance our beautiful estate with a new, fresh and fun approach.”
