voco arrives in India with Uttarakhand conversion

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Satyadeo Hospitality Private Limited to convert the existing Corbet Aamond Spa & Resort into India’s first voco hotel.

The new voco Jim Corbett is scheduled to be rebranded by July 2024, and is located within the Jim Corbett National Park Village in the northern state of Uttarakhand.

Seventh brand

The signing also marks the introduction of IHG’s seventh brand to the Indian market and adds 100 rooms to the group’s premium portfolio in the country.

voco’s debut in the south west Asia region will feature an outdoor pool, a gymnasium, a spa, an all-day dining restaurant and a bar. voco Jim Corbett’s indoor and outdoor banqueting spaces will cater to the demand from corporate and leisure guests.

Successful launch

High demand

Rapid growth

The lifestyle brand aims to combine the informality and charm of an individual hotel with the quality and reassurance of a global and respected brand. Since launching globally in 2018, voco has rapidly grown with multiple signings across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

IHG currently has 44 hotels operating across five brands in south west Asia, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express, and has a strong pipeline of 37 hotels due to open in the next two to three years. This includes Crowne Plaza Resort Pushkar in India, a 125-key newbuilding due to open in 2026; the 200-room Holiday Inn Resort Kuakata due to complete in 2026 in the south of Bangladesh; and both will be preceded by Six Senses Kanuhura, a rebranded 80-key site which will debut in Q2 2023.
