A 50-year partnership between IHG and Harilela Group grows to six hotels with a new three-property deal under Vignette Collection

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a new franchise agreement with Harilela Group, a Hong Kong-based hotel company, bringing three more hotels into the fold. The deal covers the 85-room The Hari London, the 210-room The Hari Hong Kong, and a conversion of the 324-room Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre into The Hari Singapore. All three will join Vignette Collection, IHG’s luxury and lifestyle brand.

The Singapore property is the most significant change on paper. That hotel first opened in 1985 and is currently IHG’s longest-running property in the city. British designer Tara Bernerd, who also designed the London and Hong Kong Hari hotels, is leading its redesign. The Hari Singapore is expected to open in 2027.

IHG and Harilela Group have worked together for more than 50 years, starting with the Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Hong Kong, which recently marked its own 50th anniversary. With this agreement, the partnership now spans six hotels total, including Holiday Inn Express Changzhou Center and Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom.

Three Cities, One Collection

Each hotel is located in a well-known part of its city. The Hari London is located in Belgravia, close to Hyde Park and Knightsbridge. The Hari Hong Kong is in Wan Chai, a district that connects Causeway Bay and Admiralty. The Hari Singapore will sit along Orchard Road, near Emerald Hill, with close access to Marina Bay and Changi Airport.

Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for East Asia and Pacific at IHG, said the agreement builds on a relationship that goes back decades. “This landmark agreement introduces Vignette Collection to one of the world’s most strategically important gateway cities and expands its presence in both London and Hong Kong,” he said.

Dr. Aron Harilela, Chairman and CEO of Harilela Group, added that combining The Hari’s identity with IHG’s scale gives the brand a stronger platform for growth.

Vignette Collection has been expanding quickly since it launched. The brand now counts more than 80 hotels that are either open or in the pipeline, putting it ahead of its original goal of reaching 100 properties within its first decade. Recent additions include The One Shanghai Downtown and CIEL Dubai Marina, which holds the title of the world’s tallest hotel. Properties in Kuantan, Malaysia, and the Maldives are also in the works.

What Comes Next

For now, the London and Hong Kong properties will simply take on the Vignette Collection name, since they already operate as The Hari. Singapore is the property with the most work ahead, given its conversion from a Holiday Inn and the ongoing redesign. Once complete, all three hotels will operate under the same collection, though each will keep its own local character and design.

No timeline has been announced for the London or Hong Kong rebrandings, though both are expected to move forward alongside the broader rollout of Vignette Collection’s global pipeline.
