Viceroy makes European debut in Serbia

LA-based hospitality company Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has expanded with the launch of a stylish Serbian property designed by WATG and its interiors studio Wimberly Interiors.
Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has landed in Europe with a bang. Its first hotel on the continent is located in the Kopaonik mountain range in Serbia, bringing a touch of American West Coast culture to the ski slopes of the Balkans.
Viceroy takes a shine to Serbia
The new Viceroy Kopaonik Serbia is a luxe mountain resort that takes full advantage of its stunning setting. It sits within The Viceroy Icon Collection, a brand reserved for ‘unparalleled properties furnishing lavish experiences’.
Bill Walshe, CEO of Viceroy Hotels & Resorts, said: “We’re extraordinarily proud to open our first European resort in the beautiful, culturally rich destination of Kopaonik, Serbia. Through inspiring experiences, engaging service and genuine connections, we are bringing an elevated offering that will stand out from its competitors across Europe.”
Contemporary mountain chic
This elegant and sophisticated 119-key resort has been designed by WATG and its interiors studio Wimberly Interiors, drawing inspiration from the local Suvo Rudiste style. As such, Viceroy Kopaonik Serbia’s interiors showcase contemporary Alpine living, utilising natural materials such as wood and stone, but mixed with expansive glazed panels that frame impressive views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
There are a number of signature F&B outlets onsite, including: the Pique Ski Bar, which serves light bites, drinks and live music; the The Mountain Kitchen, which dishes up hearty regional dishes for refuelling after a long day on the slopes; and The Library, a restful space in the lobby for guests to recharge. In addition, the hotel boasts a full-service luxury spa, complete with six treatment rooms, a vitality pool, a beauty lab and a hammam.
